BISCAST HIVE:PORTAL ACCOUNT

Portal Account Application for HIVE Network: Internet Access (WiFi/LAN), Procurement Management System (PMS), and Online Job Request System (Online-JRS)

BISCAST provides a portal account to be used and utilized for LAN/Wifi Internet Access, Procurement Management System, and Online Job Request System.

Accounts are categorized in four different groups of accounts:

REG-TP: Permanent Teaching Personnel of the institution for long-term access that is accessible to hive network with compatible devices. Username and password shall be used to log-in to the network.

REG-NTP: Permanent Non-teaching Personnel of the institution for long-term access that is accessible to hive network with compatible devices. Username and password shall be used to log-in to the network.

COS-PTI: Contract-of-Service Faculty Members for short-term access (pre-set expiration time) that is accessible to hive network with compatible devices. Username and password shall be used to log-in to the network.  Created account shall be based from the term of contract.

COS-NTP:  Contract-of-Service Non-teaching personnel for short-term access (pre-set expiration time) that is accessible to hive network with compatible devices. Username and password shall be used to log-in to the network.  Created account shall be based from the term of contract.

STUDENTS: Students of any college of the institution for short-term internet access (pre-set expiration time) with compatible wireless devices. An access code shall be used to log-in to the network

GUEST:  A guest wireless network for short-term access (pre-set expiration time) that is accessible to campus guests with compatible wireless devices. An access code shall be used to log-in to the network

OTHERS:  An account provided to consultants, accreditors, and technical specialists.

This network has limited access to BISCAST systems and services and is therefore not intended for use by BISCAST community members.

Only current members of BISCAST may use this service. By clicking your acceptance or by accessing or using this service, you represent that you are currently a member of the college and acknowledge that you have read all of the terms and conditions of this agreement, understand them, and agree to be legally bound by them.

BISCAST HIVE Terms and Conditions of Use

Welcome to the BISCAST HIVE Internet Services. These “Terms and Conditions of Use”, govern your rights and responsibilities and our rights and responsibilities relating to the use of the BISCAST HIVE Network.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Use

By clicking on “Log-in” on the BISCAST Hive: Portal sign-up page, you represent that you have read, understand and agree to the terms of this agreement

If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, you may not use the BISCAST Hive Portal. Your electronic acceptance of the Agreement by clicking on “Log-in” on the sign-up page has the same effect as if you had actually signed the Agreement. The effective date of this Agreement is the date that you click on “Log-in.”

Description of HIVE Network/Portal Service Availability

BISCAST will provide access to BISCAST Hive: Portal at locations (“Enabled Locations”) that have been equipped with wireless access points. Access points or Enabled Locations may not be available in all areas of BISCAST, and may not always be operational.  The BISCAST HIVE Internet Services may be subject to periodic maintenance, unforeseen downtime, and limited availability.

Access to Internet

BISCAST does not screen or restrict access to any content placed on or accessible through the Internet. BISCAST also does not screen or restrict communications between parties via the Internet. You acknowledge that if you access the Internet you may receive or be exposed to content, goods or services which you consider to be improper, inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, obscene or otherwise offensive. You agree that BISCAST is not liable for any action or inaction with respect to any such content on the Internet accessible through the BISCAST Hive Portal.

User’s Responsibilities

When access is granted, you are responsible for all system activity under your unique account. You have the responsibility to protect your account by creating and maintaining your own password. In addition, You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your unique ID and password by not sharing it with any other party.

Use of BISCAST Hive Portal is undertaken at the user’s own risk.

You must comply with local, city, national laws and regulations, including but not limited to copyright and intellectual property rights laws. You agree to be responsible for and to bear all risk and consequences for (1) the accuracy, completeness, reliability and/or usefulness of any content available through the BISCAST Hive Portal and (2) all communications that you send or receive via the BISCAST Hive Portal. BISCAST does not undertake the security of any data you send through the BISCAST Hive Portal and it is your responsibility to secure such data.

BISCAST assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment or device configurations, security, or data files resulting from connection to the BISCAST Hive Portal or the Internet, nor liability for any damages to hardware, software or data, however caused.  It is the responsibility of the user to protect their wireless devices through use of up-to-date virus protection, personal firewall and any other suitable measures.

BISCAST Multimedia Hub or ICT Office will NOT assume any responsibility for personal hardware configurations, security or changes to data files resulting from connection to BISCAST Hive Portal. It is recommended that users make a backup copy of any settings before configuring their equipment for use on BISCAST Hive Portal.

Acceptable Use and Access Control Policy

All users of BISCAST Hive Portal must comply with this Acceptable Use Policy of BISCAST HIVE:PORTAL. This UP for BISCAST HIVE:PORTAL is intended to prevent unacceptable uses of campus network. BISCAST does not actively monitor the use of the Wi-Fi System under normal circumstances.

For quality assurance purposes, BISCAST reserves the right to:

  • Block internet services such as Peer-to-Peer and streaming video services
  • Monitor usage of HIVE Network for quality assurance purposes
  • Limit bandwidth on HIVE Network

Take any additional measures deemed necessary by Multimedia Hub and ICT in BISCAST Administration’s sole discretion

Violation of this AUP for BISCAST HIVE:PORTAL may result in the suspension or termination of your access to BISCAST Hive Network.
